Wishing Star is an active farm and a historic property, so things are naturally a little different here. A few simple guidelines will help keep you, our animals and the land safe while you enjoy your time with us.

Enjoy the farm, but please don’t wander into pastures, stalls, sheds or other animal and working areas. Our animals may be friendly, but please don’t approach or feed them without permission. And please leave all gates exactly as you find them.

Watch your step. Our historic farm includes uneven ground and flooring, not to mention fallen leaves, sticks, walnuts and even the occasional muddy spot! Please take care as you walk the grounds.

Please bring drinking water. Water from the Carriage House bathroom and other outdoor faucets comes directly from our natural spring. It is fine for handwashing, but the county does not consider it potable, so please don’t drink it.

A few furry residents may say hello. Our friendly outdoor cats sometimes like to join gatherings in the Star Barn. We also have horses, goats, dogs and quail on the farm. If you have allergies, please plan accordingly.

Little ones need to stay with a grown-up. If attending a family-friendly event, children should be actively supervised at all times.

Please park in designated areas and keep driveways, gates and farm paths clear.

The Carriage House bathroom is available for guests. We are on a septic system, so please flush only toilet tissue—no oils or other liquids, wipes, paper towels or sanitary products.

Please help us care for this special place. Smoking, vaping and open flames are not permitted in or around the farm buildings, animals, hay or dry vegetation. Please place trash and recycling in the designated receptacles and be mindful of the land, buildings, animals and other guests.
